Trinitygreen Farm

Trinitygreen Farm
Trinitygreen Farm is located in the fertile lands of Mid-Louth in-between the towns of Ardee and Dunleer. The farm consists of 112 acres. Currently approx 5 acres is in forestry which was planted in 2012 and is mainly Oak. There is approx 50 acres surrounding the house and farm, and that land is currently in organic conversion. The remainder of the land is leased out to local dairy farms

Crop Production
The main organic enterprise on the farm is crop production. Cereal crops include Barley and Oats. Forage crops include Red Clover Silage and Traditional Hay and Silage, that are sold on to other livestock farmers.

Pasture Ranged Eggs
The farm also has a flock of laying hens. These hens are housed in a mobile coop where they get constantly moved onto fresh pasture. You'd be surprised just how much grass hens eat plus they also get access to insects etc. By doing this we raise our hens as close to their natural environment as possible. A hens natural environment is a green pasture area at the edge of the forest, they graze the pasture during the day and retreat to the trees at night for safety. The mobile coop acts like their trees in which they naturally retreat to each night.
Recently we have given our hens access to a small wood and you can read all about it in my blog click here to read

Our eggs are available to buy at our farm honesty box located at the farm gate Eircode A92 XNW1
